	<p>Brunsworth Ltd is pleased to announce that the “Tournament Hotel” for 2008 will again be the <strong>Royal Benja Hotel</strong> Soi 5, Sukhumvit Road, Bangkok - the Hotel has agreed to maintain its 2007 room rates for the 2008 Bangkok Sevens. The Hotel is providing a &#8216;block booking&#8217; for this Event.</p>
	<p>The Hotel will again provide wholesale rates for Bangkok Sevens teams and supporters at Baht 1,500 net inclusive of 10% Service charge and Govt VAT plus ABF for both single or twin-share rooms. This allows team costs to be kept to a minimum while providing the benefits of a very good standard hotel, conveniently located and close to entertainment, shopping and transport in easy walking distance of the Royal Benja.</p>
	<h3>Reservations</h3>
	<p>These rates are available only with <strong>Pacific Horizon Travel</strong> Bangkok and reservations can only be made direct to the company or via your team’s own Travel Agent.   A Reservations Pro-forma will be provided as required. Reservations need to be confirmed NLT 20th September</p>
	<p>To simplify check-out procedures, on arrival Team Managers will be provided an Invoice for the Team accommodation package only, by Pacific Horizon Travel (unless booked through your Agent) and bulk payment can be made in cash to the Company representative at the Hotel when checking out. Individuals will still be responsible for their own mini-bar expenses via the usual signed, credit card voucher on check-in with the Hotel. If paying Pacific Horizon Travel by credit card however, a 3% fee will be added – 4% for overseas transactions.<br />
NB- a &#8216;no-show&#8217; cancellation fee will apply if rooms are cancelled five days or less before originally requested reservation dates. </p>
	<h3>Facilities</h3>
	<p>Stadium buses will operate from the front entrance of the Hotel on a shuttle basis to get you to the ground on time.<br />

The <strong>Southerners RFC</strong> home base is now back to Bangkok Sevens sponsors, <strong>The Londoner Pub</strong> on the corner of Soi 33, they will host the annual ‘Tournament Welcome Party’ on Friday night, before the Tournament. The <strong>Old Bangkok Bangers RFC</strong> base is the Wall Street Bar while other recommended locations include, Gullivers Bar in Sukhumvit Soi 5. Nana Entertainment Plaza in Sukhumvit Soi 4 and the <strong>Soi Cowboy</strong> Area off Sukhumvit Soi 23.  </p>

	<p><strong>The first Bangkok Sevens</strong> in 1995 included just 4 international teams and 14 others from the Thai and Expatriate rugby community in Bangkok. Two Kiwi sides, Te Awamutu and Hamilton OBs fought out the first Cup final with the former taking the trophy.</p>
	<p><img src="/_images/2007_action10.jpg" alt="Incidental image" class='floatleft' /><strong>Tournament Aims </strong>have incorporated focusing broader international attention on Thailand as a rugby destination where the fun &#038; excitement of Thai culture mixes with the full on pace &#038; fast action of Sevens rugby. The <strong>Thai Rugby Union</strong> fully endorses the Bangkok Sevens and is keen to develop National team skills and success in regional tournaments. </p>
	<p>The <strong>Sevens Program</strong> now includes 4 Divisions - Senior Men &#038; Women, U15 yrs Junior Boys and since 2001, a Veteran’s Division for over 35s. <strong>Fiji&#8217;s Davetalevu</strong> has won the Men’s Cup five times but not without fierce opposition from the Kiwis, the French and the Aussies. (See <a href="/?page_id=5">Archive Results</a>). Other Men’s Cup winners have come from Australia, New Zealand, UK, Malaysia and the USA.</p>
	<p>The <strong>Bangkok Sevens</strong> has attracted over 18 Countries from the far-flung <strong>Pacific Island Nation of Niue</strong> to Japan, France and South Africa to play in arguably, “the Best Sevens in South East Asia”.</p>

	<p><strong>Thai Rugby Union</strong><br />
The TRU format for their top-level  clubs will likely be four Pools of 4 teams with the finishing positions determining allocation to 1st to 4th Divisions where semi-finals and finals will determine winners in each. Season normally starts around early August.</p>
